In 2018, Bexley High School and Capital University developed a Dual Credit Program designed to provide students with the opportunity to pursue college-level coursework at Capital University.

This is a private partnership similar to the College Credit Plus Program. However, this program is not intended to meet all the requirements of College Credit Plus and instead is an approved educational option that allows students to earn college credit and high school credit. Upon completion of the dual credit course, students will receive a course grade and credit on both their high school and college transcript.

Students should read the Capital University Dual Credit Program Guide to learn more about the program, including the program requirements, student expectations, benefits and risks, etc. Student interested in applying should refer to the Next Steps: Student Checklist section on the last page of the guide.

The Credit Flexibility Program is a means of earning course credit in a manner other than sitting in a traditional classroom setting. Credit flexibility may include testing out of a course, or engaging in educational options, such as distance learning (online), educational travel, independent study, internship, mentorship, project portfolio, study abroad program, or a tutoring program. Additionally, the program can be utilized for students who; (1) need to complete credit recovery coursework towards graduation, (2) wish to progress more quickly through the curriculum to pursue advanced coursework, or (3) may benefit from a different type of learning mode.

PLEASE NOTE: as of June 1, 2022 all Credit Flexibility course work follows the standard letter grade scale (A-F) and will be calculated into the student's cumulative grade point average.

Students interested in pursuing the opportunity should carefully review the Credit Flexibility Guidebook and are strongly encouraged to meet with their School Counselor to discuss the program, benefits and drawbacks and determine next steps in the process.

College Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families.

Students may earn up to a maximum of 30 credit hours during each CCP calendar year (summer, fall and spring) and up to 120 credit hours prior to graduation. To learn more about the program, please visit the Ohio Department of Educations (ODE) College Credit Plus website.

Participation in the CCP program is entirely voluntary and students are not required to participate under any circumstances. Students who choose to participate in CCP coursework are entirely responsible to meet all program requirements, responsibilities and ultimately the course(s) outcome.

Students interested in, or students who would like to keep the program as an option for the upcoming CCP calendar year (summer / fall 2025, spring 2026) should complete the following steps:

• Review the College Credit Plus Information & Planning Guide, including the Next Steps: Student Checklist on the last two pages.
• Attend the College Credit Plus Information Webinar on Wednesday, December 11th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm hosted by the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESC). The webinar will include a panel of CCP coordinators from area colleges and universities providing general and school-specific information regarding the CCP program.
• Submit the Letter of Intent to Participate in College Credit Plus Form by the annual April 1 deadline.
• Apply to the CCP program with the Institution of Higher Educations (IHE) directly, completing all application and enrollment requirements. Please note some CCP programs have summer application deadlines as early as January or February before the summer academic term.
• Upon acceptance into a CCP program, schedule a meeting with your current middle or high school counselor to discuss program information and options for how to align CCP and Bexley coursework.

The Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical School District (EFCTS) is an extension of Bexley High School that provides high school students with academic opportunities across a wide range of career and technical programs. These programs are designed to help students prepare for future opportunities in either a college or career path setting.         

Students who enroll in a career center program continue to have the same flexibility and opportunities to pursue a post-secondary career at a college or university, along with the education and skills to enter directly into a specific career path. Click here to view the current list of programs available through the Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools.

To complete the application process, please reference the steps provided below. For both steps, families should watch / refer to the How to Apply Video provided by the EFCTS.

Step 1: review the Application Information and the Steps to Apply diagram.

Step 2: a parent / guardian to create a Eastland-Fairfield OneView Portal account and complete their part of the application.

Step 3: once the parent / guardian part is completed, the student will receive an email with instructions to complete and submit the student part of the application.

The Mosaic Program is for juniors and seniors who are interested in an alternative to the traditional classroom experience. Traditionally, students who are strong candidates for the program are:

• Independent, original thinkers
• Intellectually curious, creative or unique
• Interested in the arts and creative expression
• Motivated by 'real life' learning experiences
• Committed to having a voice and making a difference

Imagine spending your junior and senior years learning through hands-on activities, interactions with guest speakers, and explorations of our city. Live your education by enrolling in Mosaic, a half-day humanities program located in downtown Columbus that invites students from all over Franklin County to breathe life into their academic studies. Utilizing inquiry-based methodologies to facilitate college readiness, Mosaic prides itself on celebrating each student by creating a community that supports and encourages every voice in the room. Students will also focus on “real world” skills needed to succeed beyond graduation such as collaborative and leadership skills, as well as internship and Capstone project skills. Mosaic is taught by an English and Social Studies facilitator to create a cross-content learning experience unique in Columbus.

Informational meetings are held annually during the early spring and applications and interviews conducted in March and April. Students accepted into the program are typically notified during the first week of May.
